The term "Olympian" isn't exclusively used for athletes competing in the Olympic games, but for those living on Mt. Olympus (i.e., the Greek gods). I live in Oregon, so I'm called an Oregonian. Or living in American, an American. Those living on Mt. Olympus are thus referred to as Olympians, whether they compete in athletics or not. Melanie
