The various materials (colors)that a model can have is located in the text listing of the .obj file. .MTS is an external source file that was created a long time ago by Alias if I'm not mistaken. For a proprietary program they created. Few programs use .mts files anymore. Don't believe me? Move one of your .mts files to a different folder.
