I havent worked with Nerds background tool, but if size is an issue, couldnt it just be scaled up to what you need? Ive noticed that the background images are usually 600x800 (or some other 3:4 variant); if someone created a background image that was 1200x800 and then scaled the backdrop up 200% along the y-axis, shouldnt it work?
