I have similar problems with strange memory issues in Poser. Recently I loaded up Vicky (no texture) and tried to add a hair object from Kazburo that I had used many times before. It said the OBJ was messed up in the error message and that I was "out of memory." System resources showed 91% resources free. Scratching my head, I rebooted and tried again. Same result. Then I deleted the RSR for the hair file, rebooted, and tried again. Same thing. Highly annoyed, I rebooted one more time, and it magically worked. This time. I have plenty of swap space. I don't have tons of RAM or anything, but I had never had problems with Poser before. No viruses. I defragged. I have a couple of bad blocks on that disk, but they are marked as such. I am stumped, really. Sometimes Poser works for me, sometimes it doesn't. I have 4.03 on Win98.
