LOL, sorry to get to this so late, Eric, but it looks like you've gotten some good response in the meanwhile. :D What I'll add is this: don't give up on SolidGrowth! All of my alternate leaves materials are based on SolidGrowth. You might think a fern is just a fern, but oh no, it can be *so* much more than that simply with a new texture! This image shows only one of many possibilities. Plus with SolidGrowth, you get very low polygons and bytes, thus being able to use a whole bunch of 'em without bogging down the scene. The place for the real info is Guitta's site at the link. Check out her tutorials for plants and leaves, and you'll discover an entirely new way to work with SolidGrowth! :)
