Subject: Morphable Hair and clothes for Michael?!

I'm working on bringing an old cartoon character I created into the Poser world. His name is Marlin Fingle. So far I have a rough Work In Progress. He's a bit "too perfect," when you consider this guy is sort of a hard-luck character. He's overweight, just a bit messy, and his clothes are a little too small. The first thing I'd like is "morphable hair." I'd like to be able to give him that slightly unkempt look at times. Marlin's hair is really fine, and it has a tendency to blow in the wind. Also Marlin has a high forehead, and a bald spot on the back of the head. The clothes are a bit of a problem too. Marlin's gut sticks out of his shirt. I've tried scaling, and scaling x, y or z. Nothing seems to work right. What's this I hear about Morphing clothing for Michael? Would that take care of this problem? I will be trying more morphs on Marlin/Michael's face and teeth so he doesn't look so "perfect." But so far the clothes and hair seem to be the biggest challenge. I'd appreciate any input.

As you can see Marlin busted out of his shirt. The pants look pretty much ok. I can tell you from experience that my pants don't always stay up on the waist where they belong. There are no hips to hold them up!

Rumor has it that the Mike v 2 clothing will be out next Thursday. They should have the ability to handle his gut. (The rumor is from the creator of the Vicki v 2 clothing, so I'm putting a bit of faith into the rumor.)

That's the idea! Marlin Fingle is based, not so loosely, on my own personal life. He is a "hard luck character" who makes Murphy's Luck look great. Check out the "cartoony" version of my Marlin comic strip. I created him in 1990, and haven't done much with him. Now I want to "poserize" the strip," and put it on my web site eventually.

I think you could accomplish the 'gut hanging out' effect with a texture/transparency map. You could paint out the lower part of the shirt that covers the belly and have button-straining effects on the texture. Just a thought.

I tried to visit the site but the cookie froze up my IE for some reason, probably something on my end. But I think he is sort of cute :) Neftis has some unkempt looking hair in the store I dont have it so Im not not sure what its like, looks cool in the store renders.

I think you might want to try making a morph for the shirt - go to Morphworld3.0 and read Traveler's excellent tutotrial on making morphs in Poser. Then you should be able to get his shirt to hang out with the gut :) Lyrra
