"I wonder how many of the artists are really prepared to make a 2550 x 2984 version."
Ya that added a complexity that I never thought about. I made mine that big and shrunk it so I know that I got it if some how all the oceans of the world freeze over and I win. But my point being now that I've done it is there is a possibility now that the winner will be unable to make such a large render in time for the printing... Like mine rendered no problem at the smaller size but I had all this trouble making the big one. One thing Vue never calculated the render time properly. When I started it said a little over 12 hours remaining. Scratch that idea. It took 108 hours and the clock never said over 36 hours remaining the entire render. The 49 rows at the horizon took over 24 hours alone.
One thing though I did have fun and learned you need a huge c drive to attempt such a big render. Ya like start with over 4 gigs of free space before you even start... My render never actually finnished. It only got to 94% and windows died because the c drive was full to the brim with the swap file.
My advice is have fun rendering the big one to who ever wins....
