"Tesign, one of those turned out to be yours!"...only "turn out"...arrgghhh...how I wish you said..."and I voted yours!"....LOL! Jsut kidding. I really not sure how the members from all the community vote though...as I have asked earlier who the judges were etc..and are 'judges' qualified? Anyway, as far as the "New Beginnings" Contest is concern and from what I read at CD...It is true that the rules do not prohibit "friendly" vote support. But that is not the error in Penvai's complaint and everyone else is criticising the contest rules based upon the assumption that the winning picture is supposed to be the "best"...I'm not surprise and probably was the original intent. However, the contest rules do not even suggest that this is the case. One is asked simply to "Create your best art that reflects new beginnings." This condition does not require a comparison to the work of others. Assuming that a submission meets the remaining rules the final cut is determined by popular vote and nowhere is it suggested that voters should base their decision upon artistic content. So I would have to say there is nothing wrong with the way some people may be padding their chances of reaching the final selection group. Of course this may result in the embarrasing situation of Renderosity's magazine debute being adorned with a cover depicting total artisitc crap. Such a cover will do little to persuade people that the magazine content would be any better. This would truly be a shame. Ahem!...and please don't hammer me and this is my last words about the contest...I'm in for fun! :) Bill Tesign Tesign
