WEll, it's really good to have both cause each has a certain look and there are some things that each has that the other doesn't.... Bryce 5: Great trees althogh they definitely need to be tweaked and can become very original... Also these trees can look extremely realistic with the right textures... Vue: Great vegetation crack out of the box, great trees, but you can't tweak the trees like in Bryce... Bryce 5: Very easy to get weird skies, hard to get really good realistic skies, but definitely skies are nice, not great... Vue: Great skies right out of the box Bryce 5: Amazing material editor, you can do some fantastic work with it... Unfortunately, it's also very hard to get a handle on how to work it... Vue: Great material editor and creator, very easy to understand, learning curve is much lower than Bryce's Bryce 5: handles alpha planes really well... Vue: sometimes can have problems with opacity of alpha planes... Bryce 5: There are far more resources for Bryce than Vue on the web and there are far more great materials freely available for Vue.. Vue: Doesn't have that many resources on the web, as a result, less free stuff for it... Bryce 5: Up to Bryce 4, susan Kitchens has provided super excellent documentation for Bryce... Vue: Here Vue is lacking... We need more printed materials on Vue Bryce 5: Manuevering the camera can be a bit tricky sometimes... Vue: Manuevering the camera is real easy... So, I wouldn't say one is better than the other, I'm happy with both, there are some things I would definitely use Bryce for, largely becuase Bryce has a certain look... I'm real happy with both... My advice is: get Vue 4, you won't be sorry...
