Firstly, no one knows when P5 is coming out...or even if it's coming out. And if it is, CL would be crazy not to collaborate with the author(s) of a good Poser book. Second, I think a decent book on Poser would sell very well. Poser users don't seem to be afraid to spend money. Look at all the 3rd-party products for sale just here at Renderosity. Look at DAZ. Someone (including me) is buying that stuff. If people are willing to pay $40-$50 for another model they'd surely be willing to pay the same to learn how to best use it. I'd buy a good book before I'd buy another prop, character, texture, etc. Another point: I read somewhere that Poser is one of the most pirated programs out there. If these thieves really want to use the program, they'd have to buy the book. You can't "pirate" a book...not easily anyway. I think that's where a lot of software companies goofed...putting their documentation on the CD. Yeah, they saved money by not printing a manual, but they just invited piracy. And CL, to their credit, printed a manual and put the docs on the CD. I don't think it was wise to put the manual on the CD after going through the expense of printing a manual.
