Subject: Computer Arts free Poser 3

Just received the issue of Computer Arts with Poser 3 on the CD. I fear there may be some slightly disappointed users - "The cover illustration character was created using Poser 4" and "Elements of the cover character were taken from the Michael 2.0 figure" says the sidebar - wait for lots of "Why can't I do that in P3" queries! On a related issue, PC Format is trailing a free copy of Cinema 4D 5 with the next issue: would it be a suitable app. for Poser modelling? (OK I'm probably deluding myself if I think this will be in any way relevant to my efforts, think of it as a public service announcement)

Well Cinema 4D 7 is in conjunction with the Pro Pack a pretty good render engine for Poser. :)
And it is a decent modeler for Poser stuff.

I don't know how it ist with import/export, but I think the people with Poser 3 could use Cinema 4D 5 for the renders and have transmapped hair and such.

I may be mistaken, but I think Cinema 4D is what Steve Shanks uses to create his Poser clothes. I may be wrong, but I remember a tutorial on his first CD for it. Melanie

Have to wait to see what the upgrade offers are, but I bet it'll be high for the full version (that's right isn't it, C4D comes in umpty different configurations?)

Yes, Cinema has several versions.
From less then Poser till more then Poser + Vicky + Mike + clothing packs + 20 Renderosity marketplace shopping sprees.

I wonder why I compare every bigger monetary value with a Poser purchase. ;)
