Growing up I was facinated by Norse mythology (I'm Scottish by the way) and when I first started visiting various forums, I quickly found that my first (unimaginative) attempts at screennames (mostly characters from books - I did say unimaginative didn't I?) were already taken, so I then tried to think of something REALLY obscure, hence 'yggdrasil' - the world tree of Norse myth.
