I don't know of anyone who thinks a WIP is the same thing as an advertisement. At least, none of the people I know personally think that way. One MAJOR advantage I could see to having a "Marketing" forum would be that it could provide us a place to do some serious market research without disrupting the flow of the rest of the site (and no gripes from the general membership - what a bonus! g). I'll tell you all right now that I have a serious problem with going into any of the forums and saying "hey, guys, what would you be willing to pay for this package, etc." and soliciting opinions on that sort of thing. To my mind, it's simply out of place in the regular forums, plus since my items are more general type textures and patterns - not just limited to one platform like poser, but useful both there and in 2D paint programs, it would save me a lot of crossposting issues as well. Recently I put an item up in freestuff - a set of blank pattern templates that people could use to make their own seamless texture tiles. I wound up posting the announcement in both the poser AND the Paint Shop forums. When I was uploading the file itself, I decided to put it in the "Misc" category because it didn't really FIT anywhere else. A Marketing forum would be a perfect place for announcing the availability of something like that, don't you think?
