Written words are not the same as spoken ones. The reader has control of what he reads, so it is a far different situation to read words that you find offensive than to be subjected to an oral tirade. I detest it when someone (usauly young man)is allowing four letter words to flow from his/her mouth like water over Niagra falls, in public, especially in front of my kids. But reading in a forum is not the same thing at all. I, the reader, have control over what I read. If I get offended at the language my eye sees, then I look elsewhere.{If I do not want to see Barney, then I know not to read any post by Rad :-) } Another point about forum-speak, is that the conversants have to make themselves understood in a conversation without body language, facial expressions, or writing a tome. Strong language can be a tool to cut to the chase, so to speak :-) As to the original post, yep, I have lost posts via the the preview feature also. I often run longer replies through a spellchecker instead, but most of the time that is too much trouble. pam
