In truth, he was quite a rogue, a pirate, if you will. While he was living in Argentina, he composed this three-movement piece in 1937. It is my favorite two-piano duet - so much so that a friend of mine, who is also a Julliard graduate, and I have been playing it at concerts as a showstopper finale. You must listen to it sometime - while listening to the last movement, Brazileira, you will not be able to quit tapping your foot (or some other appendage, for that matter) in time with the South American rhythms.
