Well here's a mike cat character... if you can call it that. :grins: Gotta love the ol' Daz Panther. Anyway.... The issue here I think will be texturing the two as one... any suggestions? And if I can figure out how to package it (maybe using the mover or something) I'll stick him in free stuff. I'm sure there is away but I don't know it.. if anyone could tell me how to do that I'll be happy to do that too. Anz

I'm not sure how combining two characters works, texture-wise, but if both parts retain their original UV coordinates, then you should be able to use the panther template for the head and the Michael template for the body. Ask Lemurtek. If anyone can explain this, it's him.

Yeah... thats what I plan to do should all else fail. :grins: Getting them to line up is bound to be lots of fun... But I wouldn't know how to merge them into one form either. But yeah.. Lemur would be a good person to ask.. I know he did a great job with his lionheart and anubis guy.

It depends on how you made him. With Lionheart, I had to remap the head in UVMapper separately, because somewhere down the line, (I used Spherical mode with Lionheart, since the mapping I used with Tobi and Thomas cat people horrified and dismayed all onlookers :) I lost the UV's between Lightwave and Poser. What I did, after I had the head positioned resized and fully grafted onto the Dork's body, was to use UVMapper to remap the head (and also the new legs, but that's a different story) and then use Compose to join the pieces. Then I used UVMapper again, and loaded the complete new object. I selected each body part I needed to remap, then resized, and moved it into place. Ideally, depending on how you made your critter, you won't even have to remap, just export the guy from Poser, load him into UVMapper, and move and resize the head until it fits with the body map. On the other hand I don't own Mike, but if I recall, he has a separate head and body map? If that's true, it might simplify things. I think Lyrra would know more about mapping Mike and so, maybe she'll chime in. Regards- Lemurtek

heyas; lemur, to keep your uvs in lightwave, you have to load your object, open the surface editor, select everything and tell it T: use uvs, and to use the object uvs it has. then you go to the T in the lower right corner of the workspace and tell it to use the obj uvs. (not 'none' or 'new.') you can check by turning one view to uv map view. if you dont see anything, you're in trouble. ;) and anzan, about your model, may i just say... AAAAAAACK! :)

So why didn't you tell me that when I started making Lionheart? :) Yeah, that's another lesson learned from Mallenlane. Now if only LW exported groups, making stuff for Poser would be soooo easy. Regards- Lemurtek

Thanks for the intro Lemur :) Mike has a separate headmap - if I'm seeing correctly you just kinda munged the panthers head/mouth in there - covering Mike's lower face. If you try to texture now, with any kind of details your gonna go bonkers. I suggested you try merging the headobjs first - and then remap the head. Then you get to make new texture map. BTW - looking good. :) Go look for Bloodsong's? transmappe dlion mane prop. That'll look great with this guy Lyrra

I will... heh... I was goin nuts trying to figure out how to use all of this information, too. I'm afraid I'm not quite ready to swim in the deep end.. heh heh.. But I've started using lightwave this week actually and I imagine I can get the teacher to help me if I stumble. You guy's are great.. thanks a lot. Anz
