Close-up of the inside of a collapsed pumpkin. Actually, the seeds are fine. The rotten exterior protects them throughout the winter, and also provides excellent nourishment when they start to grow in the spring. I hope this didn't gross out anyone too much. Maybe I can post my new next generation pumpkin vines by May!
