Are you kidding? He sniffed out a herd of Elk before any of us knew they existed! A group of us were driving along a dirt road towards our regular stalking area, when Burr suddenly began whining and growling, pressing his face out the window and scratching like mad... we stopped the Jeep, looked towards where his face was pointed, and sure enough - there was a herd of 20 Elk (a mature bull, a couple of spike (juvenile) bulls, and the rest cow elk) about 800 yards away, hidden in some rather dense brush. We'd have never known they were lurking there otherwise. I netted 600lbs of fresh elk meat that day :) (and yeah, I got out and walked first.) Besides, he makes a great foot-warmer at night (it usually snows by early October in the Manti-LaSal nat'l forest in Utah, so it gets cold fairly quick out there.)
