Firstly hello every one... I'm a total novice to this 3d computer techno lark, Am an old fashioned chip at it and weld it sort of a sculptor. But have just got hold of a free copy of poser 3. Questions 1. how or where do you get all the other models? 2. how do I change the clouths on a model? 3. how do you change the hair? 4. shouldn't this much fun be illegle?

  1. On the top is a link to freestuff. Most of it is for Poser 4 only. But everything from 1999 and before should work with P3. 2./3. I only have Poser 4. I don't know if P4 procedures also work for P3. But somebody with P3 know-how will help you. 4. Till now it isn't. Maybe later. Welcome. :)

Looks like we caught another one! Welcome to the world of Poser donkeyoaty :)

I started out with Poser 3 some time back and my "early work" is still on line at the above link. You are most welcome to help your self. I hope you like the Red Dress figure. Its how I used to do conforming clothing before Poser 4 came out.

If this is illegle then they haven't caught me yet..... Enjoy :)

Ill check and see if I still have the manual for P3. If youre interested in taking it, let me know (via instant message) where you want it sent to. As I remember, the manual for 3 wasnt half bad.

... human beings should be allowed to have!!! ;=]

Boy oh boy, that free software thingy really woiks, don't it!

It would be nice if more companies provided "trial" copies of their product. It was the trial copy of "Carrara" that convinced me to buy it.

Note: to those who are always looking to get something for free (except here on the "Free Stuff" - ain't this place GREAT? - rhetorical [see, I DO know how to spell rhetorical when I'm awake!]) ..... (hope I didn't misspell anything else in this post ... ;=[ ...)

cheers,
dr geep

I'm in the same boat as you, just got the free version and I'm trying to learn the ropes. EnglishBob's site has some excellent info for P3 users (see link) I can thoroughly recommend WWG figure by Hellborn available in freestuff here, just do a search for WWG. He's having problems with his site at the moment so no textures are available from him but BFM texture by Newt works great! Thats in freestuff too. Clothes are a problem as most are based on existing items and you need the original to use them. If you find any let me know :o) Most props will work fine but beware of lighting sets, some contain dozens of lights which may slow down your computer and won't make any difference to your render coz you only got 3 lights! By the way the manual (PDF) is on the disk, but you probably knew that. Feel free to instant message or email me - maybe we can help each other out? Ain't this FUN? Baz

P.S. Attention: Renderosity ADMINS ...
You might want to consider a "Poser3 'Only' Forum" if there is going to be a large influx of new Renderosians due to the free copy of Poser3 that just became available. Just a thought ......

Last time I looked (2 minutes ago) Curious Labs has a downloadable version of the P3 advanced manual available on their site. Should give you a good basit grounding. And - to all the new P3 users; Start saving your pennies for the P4 upgrade if you want some REAL fun!!! http://www.curiouslabs.com/downloads/index.html
