Does anyone know where I can find a FREE 3D Sphinx Download? If not could someone model it for me, it's for a free project I am working on. Any help would be appreciated. Dwmdesigner

What sort of sphinx? A poseable character? nerd has one for Poser at his website, Nerd 3D, inspired by the film The Neverending Story. The monument in Egypt? Haven't seen one outside of games, but I could make it for you tonight if you like. What format do you need?

Little Dragon, The monument in Egypt of the Sphinx, is the one I am looking for, so if you could make one, that would be great. The format I would like is either object(.obj)or 3D Studio Max (.3ds) . Someone here at Renderosity made one some time ago but I have not recieved a response to the email I sent to them. Thanks a lot for your help. Dwmdesigner

All right. I'll work on the mesh tonight, along with a texture, but don't expect anything too detailed.

Something simple would be fine.I do apprecaite it. I know that "Bladesmith" and "Ihawk" made one, but they have not responded to my email. Dwmdesigner

I'm starting on the Sphinx now, and thought you might like a progress report. More to come ....

Added some detail ....

This is the best I could manage. I absolutely suck at UV mapping. The head doesn't have a tremendous amount of detail, but could probably be made better with a bump map, if you're willing to run it through UVMapper yourself.

If you want it, the entire package (mesh and bump map) is 156KB. Just let me know where to send it.

Sorry I couldn't send you a note yesterday, my Direct-TV DSL was down all day, I did see it briefly using an old Dial-up service (AOL)but for some reason I couldn't post a notice. I think it looks great, it will work for what I need. Please send it to dwmdesigner@hotmail . Thanks again, I really appreciate it, I will give you credit for the mesh once the project is complete Dwmdesigner

By the way I forgot to ask, what did you model the mesh in,3D Studio Max or another modeling program? Dwmdesigner

It's on its way, Dwmdesigner.

I use MilkShape 3D, a low-poly shareware modeller originally designed for game (Half-Life) development. It doesn't do splines and advanced stuff, but for $20 it's a steal, especially considering all of the file formats it supports.

By the way, I'm still tinkering with my Arnold morph for the Poser Male. You can see a couple of pics of the work-in-progress here.
