I'm experiencing similar problems although I don't run Pro Pack. I can render Vicky2 with large maps but as I add more stuff to a scene the renders will hang. If I eliminate some texture or bump maps the scene will render properly. My theory is more memory. I'm able to render because I've got 512Mb. I've already bet money on this theory and if you wish I'll let you know if it helps when my memory upgrade arrives.
