Martin..If u remember early on.....i actually agreed to test the patch under windows 98. I dual boot, and I wanted to keep the win2k partition safe, so that I would NOT lose anything. Right from the first test, 98 had no problems......it was steve's strong insistence that made the testing go to win2k. Add to that the fact that he also insisted that I install the 4.05 beta 1 patch that everyone was having such problems with.....I told him I did not want to touch that patch under any circumstances......at the very beginning, and at the time we switched to w2k for the rest of the tests. He said that the BUM patch was all I would be working on, and that it NEEDED that patch. Reluctantly I agreed.....this constant testing took place over a period of 6 - 8 consecutive hrs... The last amendment he sent me totally screwed everything in vue......however, suddenly vue (under 2k) could read BUM files. He knew I couldnt edit, drop things, change materials, import...nothing.....he knew it was crashing...all he said was Good...we are getting closer. Might have been good for him......but not for me. There was no chance of backing anything up. So I am sorry...but I DO blame him for having lost everything, and for having to pay almost $300 to get my system repaired. I also very much RESENT the fact that upon hearing the results of his last patch.....he claimed that my computer problems were not the responsibility of E-on. He can take his attitude and shove it where the sun doesnt shine. My PC was fine before the tests.....and he knew I didnt want to test on the 2k partition....he knew it was causing massive problems......and he didnt give a flying continental at that time, nor at any time later. He didnt pay for the repair costs...I did. I resent this and everything else more than u can imagine Martin..... Since my health deterioratedand my surgery last year, I have not worked, and my income is limited to a pension.....that money was not easy to come by...and I will be feeling its loss for months to come!
