Subject: MOR pose files

Lucy_Fur ( ) posted Sat, 23 February 2002 at 7:54 PM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 3:23 AM

Whereabouts are any tutorals for doing this? Thanks!

JeffH ( ) posted Sat, 23 February 2002 at 7:55 PM

A tutorial was posted to this and the Poser Tech Forum. I'll hunt around for the link.

Lucy_Fur ( ) posted Sat, 23 February 2002 at 7:57 PM

Also - what is the difference/similarities/pros/cons between a MOR pose file and a MAT pose file?
(I is a bit o a dum-e) G

Eowyn ( ) posted Sat, 23 February 2002 at 7:58 PM

MAT pose files only apply materials to a figure, MOR poses apply morphs :)

Here's the Morph Injection method.

There's a MATpose tutorial by Syyd and Colm around here too.

Valandar ( ) posted Sat, 23 February 2002 at 8:33 PM

What about FBM's? How would I inject Full Body Morph entries into a Pose file? For example: I did a character based on (#O_O#) me... with the Thin and Muscular body morphs set to 1.0 and 0.25, respectively. How would I imbed that in the pose file?

I've heard it can be done, but I don't know the process.

Lisas_Botanicals ( ) posted Sat, 23 February 2002 at 8:46 PM

I did this by saving the character as a cr2 and as a pz2. Then using EditPad, copied the settings for "Pear Shape" and other dials that I tweaked into the pz2.

Lisas_Botanicals ( ) posted Sat, 23 February 2002 at 8:49 PM

The resulting pose file looks begins looking like this: { version { number 4.01 } thighLength 0.177885 actor BODY:1 { channels { valueParm Muscular { keys { k 0 0.1 } } valueParm SuperHeroine { keys { k 0 0.2 } } valueParm PearFigure { keys { k 0 0.75 } } valueParm Heavy { keys { k 0 0.2 } } valueParm ArmsHeavy { keys { k 0 0.2 } } valueParm HvyThghInFul { keys { k 0 0.2 } } valueParm StretchNeck { keys { static 0 k 0 -0.12 } } valueParm StretchArms { keys { k 0 0.065 } } valueParm StretchLegs { keys { k 0 0.09 } } valueParm NailsLong { keys { k 0 0.25 } } valueParm NeckThin { keys { k 0 -0.25 } }

This is the zero MOR pose I have for Victoria 2. Copy the whole thing to notepad and save as a .pz2. That's the master version you can edit. To add any full body morph, just change the second 0 to the value you want to use. e.g. valueParm Faerie { keys { k 0 0 } } changes to valueParm Faerie { keys { k 0 0.800 } } Just do that for each dial you want to use. You can delete the rest to save on size and/or affect only the selected dial (eg to change breast size only), or retain them to zero those unused dials when the pose is applied. { version { number 4.01 } actor BODY:2 { channels { valueParm Muscular { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm Tone { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm SuperHeroine { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm Faerie { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm Anime { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm Young { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm Barbarian { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm PearFigure { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm Emaciated { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm Heavy { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ArmsPetite { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ArmsHeavy { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm TorsoHeavy { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm TorsoLegHvy { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm HvyRollGone { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm HvyCreaseGo { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm HvyThghInFul { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm HvyThghInFulR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm HvyThghInFulL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm HvySpandex { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm Spandex { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm NeckSpandex { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ChestSpandex { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm HipSpandex { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm StretchNeck { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm StretchArms { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm StretchLegs { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm NailsLong { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm HeadNkHeavy { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm NeckOld { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm NeckThin { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm NeckTwistR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm NeckTwistL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm TrapsSmall { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ShldrSmall { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ShldrSmallR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ShldrSmallL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm LatsSmall { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BreastSize1 { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BreastSize2 { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BreastSize3 { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BreastSize4 { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BreastSize5 { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BreastSize6 { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BreastSize7 { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BreastSize8 { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BreastGone { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BreastMale { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BrstNatural { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BrstTopSlope { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BrstCleavage { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BreastLift { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BrstRotateIn { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm SmoothCrease { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm GravityCrease { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm TummyOut { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm WaistNarrow { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm LoveHandleR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm LoveHandleL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm Pregnant { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm AbsLine { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm AbsSoften { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm AbsPak { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm AbsRightUp { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm AbsLeftUp { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm Soften Hip { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm HipNarrow { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm HipSmall { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm GluteBig { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm GluteSmall { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm GluteCreaseR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm GluteCreaseL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm GluteFlexR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm GluteFlexL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm GluteRaiseR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm GluteRaiseL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ThighWide { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ThighWideR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ThighWideL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ThighFull { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ThighFullR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ThighFullL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ThighInFull { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ThighInFullR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ThighInFullL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm KneeSmall { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm CalfFull { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm Calf { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm FootForShoeR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm FootForShoeL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm FootPetite { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm FootPetiteR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm FootPetiteL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ToePointed { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ToePointedR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ToePointedL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BigToeInR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm BigToeInL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm SmallToesInR { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm SmallToesInL { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm CollarRUpFix { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm CollarLUpFix { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ShldrRDeltFix { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ShldrLDeltFix { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ElbowRFix { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ElbowLFix { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ThighRInFix { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm ThighLInFix { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm KneeRBendFix { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm KneeLBendFix { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm KneeRBulgeFix { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm KneeLBulgeFix { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm HeelRInFix { keys { k 0 0 } } valueParm HeelLInFix { keys { k 0 0 } } } } }

Well, I figured it out, and was able to save my Mike2 character as a pose file. Awesome!

ronknights ( ) posted Sun, 24 February 2002 at 11:25 AM

I'm almost at the point of understanding all this. Would you accomplish the same thing if you used Morph Manager to copy only the morphs you made into a "blank or null" version of your figure? I got started in something to make Null Figures out of my Marlin characters to avoid crosstalk. Unfortunately the project was never finished.

Valandar ( ) posted Sun, 24 February 2002 at 12:12 PM

Actually, yes and no, Ron. What I was referring to is the fact that while other morphs settings can be saved in a pose file, Full Body Morph settings cannot. By adding in the prefix dealing with Body, they can. As for morphs contained entirely in the Pose file, that was what the earlier discussion is about. Truth be told, all of the different files (pose, prop, character, etc) are all the same except for details. A character CR2 can be renamed a PP2 and moved to the prop library and still be posable. Geometry and weld information can be removed from a CR2 and turned into a Mor MOR Pose file. So if we include the target geometry or the actual mesh details inside a pose file, it will keep them as a new morph channel, even if moved to a different system.

Wow, I could tell you know your stuff. As for me, I'm still scratching my head. "Yes, it makes sense, somewhat. But I'm still lost."

JeffH ( ) posted Sun, 24 February 2002 at 5:06 PM

Did you know you can attach a text file to a thread? It's easier than putting it in the message area.

ronknights ( ) posted Sun, 24 February 2002 at 6:33 PM

Jeff, how do you accomplish that goal?! I know it will turn out to be something very simple. That's why I don't know it. Ron

dwilmes ( ) posted Sun, 24 February 2002 at 9:38 PM

Of course I can't resist mentioning that you can make any type of MAT/MOR file automatically with CR2Edit, I have commercial clients making 150 at a sitting... http://www.zenwareonline.com/cr2edit/tutorials/MATMAPMOR.html This is way out of date, many more types have been added, including subdivision, joint, scaling. See at the bottom of this box where it says "Upload image"? A ".txt" file can be uploaded as well. -Jeff

while other morphs settings can be saved in a pose file, Full Body Morph settings cannot. By adding in the prefix dealing with Body, they can. these full body morphs are just controllers to other morphs on the figure, right? and poses of the "Body" are not normally saved by Poser.... so, what if these fbms were moved to a different part of the body so that they ARE saved? eg in the hip? i just realised this problem myself when i tried to save a figure setting using fbms. applied the pose and saw that it lost the settings for stuff i had used fbms for. whatta waste of time. but i'll only make this mistake once. sigh

OOOH, Jeff, that's pretty tricky isn't it? I looked at that and said "an image is a image, you fool!" I talk to myself a lot.
