Ok... just WHO is deleting the messages in this thread? And for what cause?

Mehndi, All of the posts that were deleted from this thread broke the TOS in some way, so they were removed by members of the admin team. Personal attacks was one of them, but there were more. Thanks for understanding.

I noticed that too. It's one thing to delete your own messages.. but deleting those of others seems kind of scary. When anyone else 'puts their foot in their mouth', they have to accept that others are going to see the rebukes they've received. I guess moderators don't hold themselves to the same standards? ScottA, if it was you who did this, because you are embarrased by what you started, maybe you should have just apologized, instead of deleting the posts of other people who may have said something that made you look bad?

Wow I just knew there was more to it than the happy decision to quit a lousy job!!! Ho ho!! There always is around here. It's a soap opera a minute, but I discovered the neatest thing: You can say all you have to say about a subject, then you can UNCHECK the little box that says "Email me when someone replies", and then you never have to go back and read what some ignorant asshole has said who didn't even understand what the whole thread was about in the first place! It's great! UNCHECK = NO Stress!! Some of you guys should try it. In fact, I'm going to do it now! UNCHECK.... =};-}> P.S. I think he's talking to me, since I was the one who read the thread before it got deleted and was curious why posts such as rcook simply asking for his fiancee to be respected were deleted. I've always admired Spike, for his honesty and talent.. but I guess I'd better shut up before I'm deleted too.

Oh dear, I seem to remember a bit of a "whoops" with ScottA revealing he had knowledge of an admin issue that apparently moderators wouldn't normally be aware of (where did it come from?). I guess we can't have embarrassing things like that on show to the hoi polloi. But then again, maybe I'm just talking a load of old rocket science, eh Scott. ;-D

Tammy, since they were directed at ME, and since I had not complained to YOU, then why the urge to run delete the posts that were negative toward me? This just encourages this perception that people have that I am somehow treated differently than others. If I can take the heat, then why the urge to overprotect me? Oh.... uh. Hrm. Maybe it was not me at all you were overprotecting? Maybe it was the poster who was attacking me? I guess it was a bit embarrassing and all that. Best to sweep it away fast rather than let people see staff being an arse to an innocent woman?

Mine was one of the posts deleted. It wasn't a "negative" post, unless you consider it contained information that made the staff look bad. As far as I can tell, "negative" posts aren't against the TOS. And even if they were, in addition to deleting the posts, the offending members should have received a warning via email or IM. I received no such warning.

Well dear, I decided to ask what was wrong about my posts that they had to be deleted. I was told by Spike there was nothing wrong with my posts at least, and that I had not violated any TOS or anything of that nature. From his answer to me, it seems that all that was wrong with our posts that made it necessary to delete them all was they were in answer to Scott's whose posts WERE a violation of the Moderator's Guidelines, and TOS, as well as proving that someplace one of the administrators also had violated the Admin Guidelines and TOS with Scott. If they leave our posts up, they cannot cover up what happened. They removed our posts in a coverup operation ;)

Oh... Spike was very sweet about it all though darling, and suggested we focus on how much we love eachother and forget all about this nasty bad thing that happened in here...

Maybe is part of the initiation ritual for new admins: Exercise 27 - delete some posts and try not to be caught.

Jeff, by quoting a message that a member deleted themselves, you are violating that member's privacy and the Terms of Service of this site. I will be reporting your violation to the administration. Your harassment will not be tolerated.

Since you feel so free to quote from deleted messages (in fact the ONLY message that was voluntarily deleted the very instant it was posted, which is ALSO a violation of your admin powers since only admins can see the messages that were deleted now) I take it we who have copies of all those other messages that were deleted are free to also quote from them and repost them? Thank you, I was wondering on that. Don't bother to delete this message of yours above to try to hide it either dear, I have a copy, just as I have a copy of the ones where you and ScottA committed your wee faux pas. Somehow though, I suspect, that even if I restore EVERY last deleted message into this thread for the community to judge at their leisure, they will come away also saying "Damn you to hell" along with me.
