It is indeed a good start to begin with. In line with Slynky, the typography of the 'The' and 'Mexican' could be finetuned as well. If you really must use this type, then try to get the 'he' nearer to the 'T'. I always try to get a natural balance, even if that means letters touching each other. But as you can tell from my choice of words you could look for some different fonts for starters. The 'Mexican' word looks very nice, especially if the alledged Mexican is from Brooklyn (I have a font like that called like that). But it is a matter of taste. I would also darken the borders or wash out the colors at the borders of the image, to draw the focus to the big portrait in the middle. Or maybe blur the background (including the left and right portraits) a bit. Or to desaturaite it.
