rbtwhiz, your comment about pencil and paper reminds me of the story that NASA spent millions (billions?) developing a pen that would write in zero gravity. When the US and Russian astronauts eventually met up in space, the first thing the US astronauts noticed was a pencil in the Russian Cosmonaut's pocket.
