type hair while poser is open then a dialog pops up allowing some tweeking export 'hair' as a obj, reimport and it will render (AFAIK that is.) I think that there is a plug in (prob that furfur you mentioned). I have used the 'hair' tool for grass, but useing it for hair sucks.
