As far as lighting books, those 2 books are really going to give you a lot of great info... The other thing is just experimenting with lighting yourself... The jeremy birn book is simpler, and does not have as many different lighting techniques, but is good... The other book is a little encyclopedic, but as you get towards the middle and end, he does a great job of different lighting techniques... The Owen book, although very good in what it teaches, I don't feel is as good for texturing as perhaps studying the susan kitchens book and getting good at the deep texture editor.... Also, studying tutorials on the web for texturing in Bryce... the DTE is a unique and powerful animal.. But it takes time to learn...
