Poser Technical F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 12:50 am)
Welcome to the Poser Technical Forum.
Where computer nerds can Pull out their slide rules and not get laughed at. Pocket protectors are not required. ;-)
This is the place you come to ask questions and share new ideas about using the internal file structure of Poser to push the program past it's normal limits.
New users are encouraged to read the FAQ sections here and on the Poser forum before asking questions.
Somewhere, you must have changed the "scale" of the object.
(i.e., made it larger)
When you create an MT, NEVER change:
You may not have done this deliberately, but may have happened when transferring between programs. All programs seem to generate their own "scale."
If you do change either the scale or position of the object, the MT will not work properly.
You can only move individual verticies when you create an MT. ;=]
Remember ... "With Poser, all things are possible, and poseable!"

Hey friend, thanks for your willingness to help. I didn't adjust the scale, and I only move individual vertices. What I did was model a cross, export it as an obj. Then, I took the same cross I just exported, moved the ends out a bit via the vertices (to change the shape of the cross a bit, adding no new vertices (which wouldn't work anyway), or the scale of the obj.) Exported that obj. I import the object into Poser, double click on the obj, click on the new morph target button, select file of the obj I just exported, and it all works out. When I use the new morph dial I have just created, the morphs work fine, but the overall scale of the object increases. =-( Thanks much for your help!
Another thing you might try when importing into Poser .... The Prop Import Options panel has an option called "Percent of standard figure size". If this option is checked, Poser will automatically resize the object on import. Any morph targets you add will still be to the original scale, resulting in size-change on use. If this is the cause, leave the option unchecked. After importing, you can use the Scale dial to resize the prop, and Poser will compensate for the Scale settings when you add morph targets.

I've created an object in Milkshape3d (don't laugh, I don't have a ton of money) - but I import it into Poser as an .obj file. Now, I've created a morph for it (it is a cross, that will hopefully work with the free necklace Daz gave away) - but I've created a morph for it, to make it kind of the "Millenium Cross Pendant" - and the morph works well, but the problem is when I apply the morph, the entire object grows larger, apparently applying the shape of the obj to the obj itself . . . sigh.
