in the last few days, entire branches of the internet have been experiencing packet loss problems. this has occurred in the evenings EST (NY Time), from around 1 am to 6 am. it may be that a major routing hub is undergoing some problem and this is when they try to fix it, or is being overloading with 'hacker' traffic meant to create denial of service conditions. as far as i am aware of, we are not doing anything different.
