there was a link to a huge archive posted here a while ago 286 free BVH files that work with poser with some adjustment in the graph editor and removal of the floor planeand there is my customized motion pack in the marketplace( preview at the link above) here that are tested by renderosity to work with poser4
so there are quite a few choices to get you started
Just a thought, but with the files in the huge BVH zip from Stanford Univ. mentioned in that thread, rather than removing the ground plane, I found it effective to just parent the figure to a invisible prop and raise the prop (I think it was Y+0.3500) in the first key frame & it takes care of the whole sequence.

Actually there might be an inexpensive way to record bvh-Files soon. Take a look at a new product from the cebit fair, which may not be perfect now but looks promising....

You can also try Cred0-Interactive. They've got hundreds of great bvh motion files made for Poser and several other apps. I've got the 500 motions CD and they files are very good.
