Subject: Eyebrow question - PLEASE HELP

IceStorm ( ) posted Wed, 03 April 2002 at 11:23 PM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 12:51 AM

Im pretty new to this and Im not sure how to explain my problem right. I can't get the eyebrows to thin out on the P4 Female. I tried erasing them in the texture when adding makeup but when I load the texture the original eyebrows still cover the eyebrows I drew in the texture. I even tried loading textures from the free stuff that had thinner eyebrows and the eyebrows are always thick. Can someone tell me what Im doing wrong?

There's not much you can do, really. About the best solution, unless someone can tell me otherwise (and God knows I'd like to know myself), is to make the entire figure white with black highlights in the materials window and then apply your texture. It doesn't make the lumpy eyebrows go away, but it sets the texture across them sufficiently that you don't notice them too much.

I tried that too..sigh

I don't know if this will help or not, but pam has an eyebrow-flattening morph for Posette in Free Stuff.

hahaha..i tried that too.its not the flattening part,I want thin eyebrows.

Then what you'll probably have to do is rebuild the textures to reflect that and apply the morph. Let's face it: thin eyebrows don't have a lot of depth.

Have you reset the Object Color of the brows in the Materials dialog to white? If not, the color of the brows will show through the texture map. Usually you want all the object colors set to white. Don't know if you want to buy a full add-on package for Posette - but my P4FemMagic includes in its 90 new morphs an eyebrow flattening morph and one that removes those little ridges between the brows, as well as lots of other things, such as pose files that set all the colors to white with a fast double-click. The 30-page illustrated user guide explains how to use all the latest Poser advances. And the Happyworldland link on the right-hand bar of this page has lots of free P4 texture maps with thin and shaped brows. HTH - Elisa/gryffnn

What gryffnn said. Set the eyebrows material color to the same color you have set for the head and body. This will fix the problem.

tried that..I really should put up a pic and show you guys what it looks like when I set the brows to white or even worse the skin color.it doesnt work at all. It just comes out a lighter brown...

You probably should post something so we can see what the problem is. Might be the best course.

Does this help? Sorry 'bout the large pic, but it's one I had at hand. These are all the same standard P4 female texture map (that I added eyebrows to in Photoshop), applied to the figures in Poser and tinted with pose files. The face poses are from P4FemMagic.

Make sure not just the Object Color, but also the Highlight, Ambient and Reflective colors are the same on both the skin and eyebrow materials, to get consistent color. HTH - Elisa/gryffnn
