Before buying new software or hardware to increase the performance of Poser, try this... Turn off all the shadow functions of the lights that do not need to cast shadows. Unless you are inside an area that requires multiple shadow angles, these shadow options are not needed, will not add to the picture's visual beauty, but WILL SLOW YOUR RENDER TIME DRAMATICALLY. That is because every shadow of every light on every object must be calculated and drawn. This works great for me. I have a PIII, 500mh, 256RAM machine and Poser would choke constantly before I learned this silly trick. Now my render time is cut to a FIFTH what it used to take! Good luck!
