I sort of agree... but then again I am looking at all this as a consumer, not as a developer (though I am one). While the absolute file notation is fine for someone to use on their own hard drive - it is absolutely flawed when used by a vendor who will be distributing their work. It basically guarentees that the file references will be broken. Now in my mind this is the responsability of the vendor, not whoever writes the utilities those vendors use but I think the documentation of any utility should make it's quirks/limitations clear.
