Another one- * Pulque (pronounced pool KAY and a drink with a fascinating history) This was the drink before tequila became popular, and is still drunk today, but doesn't have the popularity that Tequila has (kinda like Michael isn't as popular as Vicky ;). Fermented from the same Agaves that Tequila comes from, this drink is believed to be over 2,000 years old. The myth and history of this drink is fascinating. "The pulque gods wore a half moon made of bone in their nose and their faces were painted black and red representing the light and dark side of the lunarscape and reflected their status as lunar beings." Representing "a star" that died and was reborn daily (the moon) explains why the gods represented life and death in nature. I read this shortly after seeing your male figure, and it seemed to fit. Or at least worthy of mentioning here. Pulque was used by royalty and priests to celebrate great victory and "was served as a ritual intoxicant presumably to increase the priest's enthusiasm over the imminent sacrifice and to ease the sacrifants impending demise." Sacrifice?! Woah, back up there. Then light and dark side of the moon? Death and daily rebirth? All adds to an interesting namesake. Woah, okay this is a long enough post. I'll stop my long-windedness.
