I use Aweful Eyes for everything, no matter how close or far away the shot is going to be. Even further away they seem more lifelike and real. I'm in the process of converting all of my eye tex's to Aweful Eyes actually. :) There is an image of a close up in my gallery. (The Girl Within, is the name of it) if you want to take a look. It has both the real and mecha eyes in it.
