twillis, Let me see if I can address some of the weirdness. 1. Anything Grows uses the surface normal as a starting direction for hair growth. If you see hair growing inside your object, it's probably because the normals got reversed. Closing your object like you did gives Carrara enough information to figure out the right direction for the normals. You can also use the Reverse Polymesh Normals command in the Vertex modeler. The reverse normals commands is a bit flaky though so you may have to play with it to get it to work. I had to do this, select facets, reverse, unselect, reselect, Standard Polymesh Normals, and then it was reversed. 2. You got it, just use the Refresh Master Lists button to have Anything Grows check for new shaders and objects. Unfortunately there was no way to get notified that something new had come along or a good place to automatically refresh so it had to be manual. 3. The smallest resolution I tested on was 1024x768. With that you should have space for the whole AGro Primitive UI. If that's not the case please send me a screen shot and we'll see what we can do.
