Thanks, Eric. I assumed most of the problems were on my side; I hope it didn't sound like I was complaining. I can see I'll need to experiment with the reverse normals command, although so far just making sure I use a closed surface seems to work pretty well. It should have occured to me to use the Refresh thing. I was thinking was soley to do with changes made to the Anything Grows settings, and not the whole scene. Actually, I think a manual refresh is fine; an automatic refresh might eat up too many memory resources. I'm probably using a smaller resolution monitor resolution than 1024 x 768; on account I am an old lady with old eyes. Well, middle-aged eyes, anyhow. I'll verify this when I get home. I should also mention that it's possible to get a lot more realistic looking hair than my cartoonish efforts. I'm more interested in cartooning than realism, so I'm using relatively low strand counts (and thick strands). However, you do have the option to do much finer hair, if you have the memory for it. I'll try to post an example of that as well as a long hair example when I get home tonight. My poor dude is gonna be used like one of those Barbie heads we had as kids (well, maybe you guys didn't have one). Eric, another side effect you should probably warn people about is the fact that one winds up with the theme from the musical Hair playing in one's head all day. It's been 4 HOURS of "give me hair... long beautiful hair" over and over and over ALL MORNING LONG.
