I know your focus is more on the lovely contessa, but I find your city to be absolutely enchanting! The only little nit I have is that she looks a bit as though she isn't grounded. (But then, maybe she isn't? ;-) Would a judicious shadow on the sand help that? Oh, almost forgot to mention the footprints - neat! I think it's effective that they more distant ones are lighter.
