Taking into account what every one said. Instead of Fire i used smoke and did a gold and Cromo version. Here's the last two one of these will become the logo which one do you like better?

I still liked the fire much netter. But perhaps if you use a much thicker typeface. Hard to read at first. James

A thicker typeface. But I like the gold version, it shows up better against the black background. What prog do you use. Go my Ulead Cool 3D font prog back on line (comcat.dll was corrupt and wouldn't recognize the plugins) but I've lost all my premade textures because I stupidly reinstall it before I found the problem was a corrupted dll file. I'm working with version 2.5 and it doesn't have all the bevels in 2.0. So I'm thinking of installing 2.0 in a different file and making letters with the other bevels and saving them because I can access and save the bevels from previously saved files.

yeah, I prefer the chrome "look" but the gold is definately better against white smoke and the black background SewerRat

I agree with SewerRat the chrome is nice

The gold stands out much better. Perhaps some smaller fire in the scale pans?

Another vote for gold and a thicker face also Maybe point the figure into the letters rather than away from them thus unifying the whole logo jje (dying to see where this is going)

I'm sorry Storm. I don't like either of these two. What I liked about the bottom one, of your last post, is it followed the rules of graphic design: K.I.S.S. (KEEP IT SIMPLE!!!) It was a simplified black design, over a white background. I thought the flames were a definate weakness. But, I neglected to mention it previously. Problem is: your designing a LOGO!!! Your not designing something that will only be used once, then discarded, (I'm assuming). Therefore, it has to be something that will look good over ANY color background, and should look appropriate under almost ANY situation. The logo I mentioned earlier works. You can place it over practically any scene, and it would look like it was made just for THAT specific scene. The two logos above fail. Because, they conflict by being "too busy", distracting from the scene(s) they are supposed to introduce. Using chrome, gold, (or even flames!!!) are just add-ons. They are NOT the basis of good design. Think about it, a sculpture isn't going to be a better piece of artwork ONLY because it's got a really fancy pedistal. If the piece of sculpture sucks, it doesn't matter how fancy the pedistal is, the sculpture will still suck. BUT, in the end, the final choice is ultimately yours.

I like them both Stormy, but lean towards the gold :)
