Ms Niles, You may be shaking your head at the can of worms opened here, but there are two salient points which you might want to consider in order to extend your sales. This community is made up of absolute newbies (who may already be established artists in traditional media) and gurus who pushed the program far beyond original designs, as well as regular users, and they have different needs. Who is this book targetted at? If the newbies, then it should be clear, concise, and inspiring. If it is the established user base, you'll need to include material and tricks not easily gained by clicking on the menu bar. Considering the 85,000 or so members here, and the folks at 3dcommune and PoserPros who do not come here, it is quite likely that the established userbase is well over 100,000 people, which ought to represent a nice market for a technical book. I've used PhotoShop in various incarnations for almost a decade, and still buy the "WOW!" books because of the additional content and wonderful tips. I suspect tht you will need something like the WOW! book for Poser in order to induce us to open our wallets. Covers make or break sales. I know, having done my share of cassette and CD covers and working on various games. If the customer picks the package up and turns it over to read the blurbs on the back, you've made half the sale. If the customer grimaces and walks on by, you've lost it. Considering the elegance of the Poser packaging and interface, the product deserves better. More important for your publishing house, better art ought to translate into better sales. Since you have 5 months or more until this book hits print, I strongly recommend that you hire another artist to do the cover image. You ought to have an image which causes a viewer to think "Wow, how did he do that!" as he reaches for the book. Carolly
