Blue Moon, I live in Portland. I wonder how many Oregonians there are here in the forum. The Oregon Trail and Lewis and Clark are a huge part of this area's culture and history. I've been to Fort Clatsop, where L&C stayed with Sacajawea and her husband Charbonneau. There's a statue of her in Washington Park in the west hills of Portland, heading up toward the Oregon Zoo. It's been ages since I've been past it. I believe she's holding a baby, but I could be wrong. The fort has actually been rebuilt because the original is long gone, but it's on the exact spot and built to the exact plan and size as the original. Surprisingly, it's very small. Hardly any bigger than a large house. Melanie
