I wonder if he's using Windows XP and/or IE 6.x I've had similar problems on my laptop. What I had to do was go into the settings for Cache size and such and play around with those. Delete the cookies, clear out all off-line content.. download updates, etc., etc... Finally ending with a nice reboot... Now, finally, it works. First time since I got the laptop that it has. What was the cure? Not really sure which step cured it for me since I pretty much did 'em all at once. I am thinking it was re-setting the cache size (even if I did lower it from 120 megs to 40 megs). If not that, then perhaps the clearing of off-line content and cookies. Worth a shot. :)
