Alright, you got me. It's not the real Superman, just an alien android clone of his evil twin from an alternate universe (Stan Lee, eat your heart out!). He was exiled from his own reality for making diamonds and throwing the entire world economy into chaos and sentenced to live out his remaining days as a humble register jockey. And yes, he should be wearing the hat, but he's not quite THAT humble yet...;)
