Carrara's great, people! You have your modeling stuff, which is pretty great (and it even comes with a free copy of Amapi 5.1, an even better modeler!), you have your Bryce type stuff, terrains, sky, water, etc., you have special effects stuff, like fire primitives, fountains and particles, physics, etc., you have a great (and in 2, apparently, even better) materials and rendering set-up, and now bones to top it all off. That's a HELL of a lot of great stuff for the price. HOWEVER, I don't see it replacing Poser anytime soon. Poser still has key features Carrara doesn't: morph targets, conforming clothing, and simply the ease of dialing in poses. Of course, Carrara 3 may be a different story...
