Well, if you don't have the experience and/or tools to take it apart, don't do it. Lens segment placement is very, very critical and one piece of glass that's not 100% in place can make your whole lens completely wortless/useless :) Or if it's a cheap lens that you can risk loosing, I guess trying carefully won't hurt....
