One thing I can't understand... when roleplaying with a group of guys, they will load themselves down with a dozen or more spikes each (and accept the encumbrance penalties), "just in case" they want to spike a door or something. We usually don't encounter closable doors. And if we do, my characters prefer to leave the doors and passages open for maximum mobility and choice of routes. It would be embarrassing (or worse) to be delayed by an obstacle set by oneself. (Dungeon delving is like rock climbing... if you can't extricate yourself, you have no business being there.) Maybe there is a spike wielder here who can justify this preoccupation with carrying them around? Carolly
