Actually, they are fairly common in the Sierra Nevada of California where I grew up. I once woke up in bed to the senstation of something large crawling on my legs-I leapt straight out of bed with a scream-there were two mating or fighting on my leg. Poor things-I broke up their romantic interlude. "Pardonez-moi, mamselle Scorpioness. Would you care for a night of romance at "Chez Thigh"? "Mai-oui, monsieur Scorpion!" Anyway these darlings where more gray-tan, with bristles on the legs. I caught some and kept em as pets from time to time-so perhaps they were from a prior "jail-break." Eric OUCH! Walters
