That means you don't need to load a bodysuit and texture it (so there is one less mesh in the scene bogging things down) and it fits them perfectly with no poke through issues. In other words, this is an "instead of a body suit" option. These kinds of mats work particularly well when used under armor and other clothing that may not work or look right if there is a bodysuit under them. Some also work well as clothing all on their own...just depends on what it is.
