I have a really nice IBM Office Professional UPS. We probably paid $130 for it because we wanted a few extras. We have a cable modem, and I even have the feedin from the cable modem going through a surge suppressor. We have a small house with old wiring. Sometimes my wife turns on the coffee maker and the microwave at the same time. It flips the circuit breaker, and our office electricity goes out. We need to protect ourselves.
